Outsourcing is a vital tool for achieving cost savings through focusing on core business, especially in highly competitive industrial sectors. With its “Wastewater as a service” offering, Epuramat gives customers the option of outsourcing their plant operations completely or partly. Under this arrangement, operation, maintenance and repairs are all taken over by Epuramat technicians. This problem-free option is made possible by the remote surveillance provided for all Epuramat plants.
“Wastewater as a service” also includes the option to rent or lease the Epuramat plant at a monthly rate. Epuramat treatment plants can pay for themselves within a short period of time. The following sample calculations clearly demonstrate different scenarios.
- A company in the recycling industry has monthly outgoings for fresh water of around €21,000. Some of the water is already recycled through reed beds. Epuramat offers the company a highly efficient treatment system for recycling, whereby fresh water costs can be reduced by up to two thirds down to as little as €7,000 per month. Over a period of five years, a hire-purchase agreement would attract monthly payments of €5,800. After this, the plant is transferred over into the company’s property on effecting a down payment of €1. Within the first month of operating, the company will make a saving of up to €8,200 per month on the cost of buying fresh water.
- A company in the food industry consumes approx 300 m³ of fresh water per day (approx. 60,000 m³ per year). The associated costs for the provision of fresh water and disposal of wastewater are an estimated €180,000. Epuramat offers the company the option of purifying their own wastewater and disposing of it directly. This can deliver savings on the cost of fresh water and wastewater charges of up to €120,000 per year. With an investment of just €600,000, the plant will pay for itself within ten years.
